JSSC MASTERS INAGURAL

It was a wet; boggy day at Traditions on Friday and still now I can hear Bubbles Pitt saying I told you it would be wet there in my ear. It was a tough day and in all fairness we where lucky to get so little rain despite the previous days somewhat Indian summer climate.

It was a 26-man tournament, which pursued with some new faces on the roster that would play a big part in the days proceedings. The course is tough enough without the added difficulty of fairway bogs and swamps which where somehow reminiscent of the Somme of 1914. In many cases it seem to be nearest the dry land more than nearest the pins.

But for those who made the journey and soldiered through the day it seemed to be worth it, and I would like to give thanks to those who did turn up for my first society it was good for me that you all did so thanks.

So to the part of who finished where? I should imagine there where some conversations as to how many points would win this society and I think that no one could have predicted the tightness at the top and the two leading scores and a first timer grabbing the win.

The rest of the field where narrowly spaced out with only three or four points covering fourth to about fifteenth. A new longest drive winner emerged as well as a couple of new near the pin winners.

The special awards for the day went to Villages mate who is aptly named Benny who got nearest the pin on the sixth, and also Steve Pitt who hit a great shot into fifteen. The longest drive palaver awarded accuracy and the only man to hit the fairway was Jon Woody Woodrow who picks up his first prize. J.K netted the last place award of two videos and a really crap head cover.

The big awards went like this. In fourth with 34 points Steve Spam Pitt. Third went to Hampshire Hackers member Roger Marsland with 36 points. Second to Rod Ramsey with 43 points and the winner Son Of Yates with fourty four points. And how we are going to cut them two for the next society.

I am planning a future society probably towards the end of January early February at either Milford, Pyrford or Blue Mountain which ever has the best deal so keep checking back for updates.

Further more I would like to announce the end of season event at Test Valley in memory of George Miles And Roger Russell it is a fantastic day.

Traditions Round The Corner

Well it is nearly here folks the traditions society. What I would first like to say is thanks to everyone who has confirmed already I aprreciate it.

For twenty eight pounds you cannot ask for a better deal. At the moment I have approx 20 confirmed golfers so if you have not yet confirmed then please email us here by clicking on the contact tab located at the top left of your screen.

There are some notable abscences from this society notably James Chapman and Jeff Pitt who cant make it for one reason or another so everyone has a chance and I would not like to say who will win it. All I know is it aint gonna be me.

There will be some new faces at this day as well as some old ones, and it should be a good crack. If you need directions please go to www.multimap.com and patch in the following postcode GU22 8UE or do a route map at www.rac.co.uk.

We have some great prizes up for grabs and a fantastic hole for longest drive, water anyone.
